01 Challenge

Vijay Gupta is a celebrated performer, speaker, author, and philanthropist. A 2018 MacArthur "Genius" Fellow. Featured in TIME's Next 100 influencers. Hailed by The New Yorker as "a visionary violinist" and "one of the most radical thinkers in the unradical world of American classical music." His TED Talks have millions of views. He's performed with the Israel Philharmonic at age 11 under Zubin Mehta, joined the LA Philharmonic at 19 as their youngest violinist ever, and delivered the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts and Public Policy alongside luminaries like Yo-Yo Ma and Maya Angelou.

His old website told a narrower story. It looked like it belonged to a talented violinist, not a force reshaping how we think about music's role in society. Generic design. Thin content. No sense of the breadth of his work or the weight of his influence. With Restrung launching and a new chapter of his career unfolding, Vijay needed something bold, beautiful, and unmistakably his own.

02 Solution

We built a site that shows the full scope of who Vijay is. Not just a violinist. Not just a speaker. All of it: the performances, the activism, the speaking, the book, the influence.

The design had to match his stature. Bold, arresting visual language with custom typography, his violin bow integrated into the logo, and rich photography and video throughout. The site feels more like an art installation than a typical musician's website: unconventional, memorable, unmistakably his.

Each aspect of his career gets the space it deserves: dedicated sections for his live performances, speaking engagements, memoir launch, and philanthropic work. Performance videos, speaking testimonials, major press features (The New Yorker, TIME, PBS), and a platform that could properly showcase his memoir Restrung.

‍The Result

‍The new site looks and feels like the force Vijay is. It's bold, beautiful, and completely distinctive. Positioned not just as a performer but as a thought leader reshaping classical music. Every page reinforces the breadth of his work and the weight of his influence.
